"For me acupuncture was a last resort simply because I knew nothing about it. I had tried other treatments for years for my neck and back pain and nothing offered long term relief. It seemed that every couple of days I felt like I needed another treatment. The acupuncture sessions that I have had at Advanced Healing Arts have given me the long term pain relief that I have been looking for. I only wish I had discovered Advanced Healing Arts a long time ago!"

"Without a doubt, the combination of athletic therapy and acupuncture has been a very strong union to get athletes physically ready for return to sport. Acupuncture has been able to reduce pain and swelling almost immediately with an acute injury. In many cases, this has allowed the athlete to commence his rehabilitation program earlier and with less complication due to prolonged pain and swelling. With the more chronic injuries, such as the back, I have had the acupuncturist release the problematic muscle group associated with the back pain before I treat the athlete. This allows me the opportunity to facilitate musculoskeletal balance and have the athlete work on core strength and sport specific exercises pain free.

A good acupuncturist makes a valuable contribution to a medical team within the amateur and professional sport world and many athletes “swear by” the acupuncturist associated with the team.

I am very pleased to have the opportunity to work with Ian Dunsmuir. I see incredible results from his acupuncture treatments on the athletes that I work with. His professionalism, his knowledge base and his passion to help athletes return to sport are the primary reasons I have chosen to work with him on a consistent basis."

"From very minimal mobility in my shoulder, to almost complete mobility, in the span of one month. To say that I am delighted is putting it mildly. I would not hesitate to recommend both acupuncture, and especially the provider, Ian Dunsmuir. He is not only personable and caring, but in my opinion, very good at his chosen profession."

"Dealing with chronic back pain is no simple task. I had a car accident 2 years ago which damaged my lower discs. I have tried nearly every pain relief treatment and medication there is. I am so glad to have finally found one as natural and effective as acupuncture. Not only does acupuncture relieve my pain, it is also an extremely relaxing treatment. I admit I was very skeptical when I first began treatments, I didn't see how tiny needles would be much of a help to my pain or my discs, but when it began to relieve my various symptoms I was shocked and very pleased. I walk into acupuncture in a great deal of pain and discomfort and come out feeling relieved and relaxed. So happy I finally gave it a shot! — I recommend this treatment to everyone that has to deal with pain."

"It's been long overdue but I need to tell someone about my own success story
with Ian's acupuncture treatments. In a nutshell Ian has made it possible to restore my active lifestyle that I've so long enjoyed. I am an avid rock climber who also hikes regularly and occasionally lifts weights. in the winter when the weather is afoul you'd find me in the climbing gym or weight room, if not that its some form of cardio work-out.

I am also a person who has too often pushed his body to it's limits. When my back (SI joint) started sidelining me and keeping me from being as active as I want to be I sought out treatments for close to two years with little or no improvements and this included acupuncture from several Chinese parishioners, and many physio-therapists.

I was ready to accept my fate as an injured person with limitations in my workouts and activities. Until a Friend referred me to Ian. After 1-2 months of treatments with Ian the quality of my lifestyle was restored. My Biggest thanks to Ian who has made it possible for me to maintain this active quality lifestyle.

I owe so much to him. Thanks again.
Anyone who has doubts about acupuncture should give Ian a try even if they've tried other acupuncturists with little or no results."

Acupuncture was vital to me achieving the pinnacle of lacrosse – winning the National Lacrosse League’s President’s Cup. As a 39 year old veteran, I was able to play every game last season and wouldn’t have been able to without my acupuncture treatments. To me, acupuncture has multi purposes. It is essential for active rehab, vital for recovery and preparation and imperative for preventative maintenance. Acupuncture is highly effective at loosening tight muscles making it a huge contributor to the overall healing process. It helps to speed up the recovery process and, in my case, reduce injury time by at least 50%.

Thanks for all the help Ian! I highly recommend acupuncture to athletes of all levels and in all sports.

"When my family physician suggested medication may be necessary to lower my blood pressure — if I was unable to do so through diet and exercise — I decided to investigate alternative methods of intervention. Through acupuncture I have not only been successful in lowering my blood pressure I have also increased my energy level and have a greater sense of well being.

I highly recommend the process of acupuncture and Ian as a highly skilled practitioner.

Thanks!"

"I have been struggling with anxiety for over a month. It had gotten so bad that I had to resort to taking Ativan to sleep most night.

Originally I had seen Ian for acupuncture for some muscle pain in my hip and leg. I mentioned to him that I was having trouble with anxiety and he said acupuncture could probably help with that as well.

Yesterday I was feeling fairly anxious at the beginning of my treatment, and shortly after the needles were in, I felt a wave of emotion and felt teary. It only lasted a short time and afterwards I felt quite calm and actually fell asleep on the table.

Later that evening, I realized how calm and content I was feeling, and last night I slept soundly without any drugs! What a miracle!

I will definitely continue with acupuncture treatments to continue to release and clear any residual anxiety and improve my sense of calm and well-being.

I am so thrilled with the results!

Thank you Ian, for your healing gifts."
